Concert 1 - Opening concert
Thursday 25th April 7.30pm
United Reformed Church, Romsey
Romsey Chamber Music Festival begins with a concert of Slavic music from the baroque to 20th Century. Zelenka’s music, once a footnote in Czech history books is now undergoing a richly deserved revival, and the B-flat trio for Oboe, violin and cello opens RCMF’s 2019 season. Student and teacher, Josef Suk and Antonin Dvorak’s, richly romantic string quartet pieces contrast with a rare performance of Kabalevsky’s String Quartet no.1, and RCMF favourites Matilde Loureiro and Emma Roijackers return to the UK to perform Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata for Two Violins.
