James Trowbridge

Double Bass

James is currently studying his postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music with professors Graham Mitchell, Tom Goodman and Dominic Seldis. During his time there he has accumulated a wealth of experience both as an orchestral and ensemble musician, frequently working with some of the major orchestras based in London (some such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonia). He also previously founded the Whitman Ensemble (a double bass and piano quintet) giving their debut performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as giving his debut in the Wigmore Hall in 2022 for the Academy’s bicentenary year. James also regularly tours internationally with Mario Stefano Pietrodarci’s quintet, most prominently performing at the Festival Stradivari in Italy.
