The Romsey Chamber Music Festival Young Artist Programme offers outstanding emerging chamber musicians the chance to learn, perform, and collaborate at the highest level. Participants work alongside internationally celebrated artists in an inspiring and supportive setting.

The 2027 Romsey Chamber Music Festival takes place from 1–6 June 2027. The Young Artist Programme will run throughout the 2026/27 season, with activities leading up to and including the festival.

This programme builds on our long-standing commitment to education and outreach, creating an integrated experience that supports the next generation of chamber musicians.

Programme opportunities may include:

• Individual and group coaching sessions from RCMF artists

• Public masterclasses during WinterFest and the summer festival

• Side-by-side performances with festival musicians

• Additional performance opportunities, where appropriate

Each participant's programme will be tailored in consultation with the Artistic Director to best support their artistic development. In your application, please indicate which aspects of the programme are of greatest interest to you. The programme is deliberately flexible, allowing each participant's experience to be tailored to their artistic goals and availability. Some previous participants have received regular coaching throughout the year, while others have chosen to work intensively alongside festival artists during the summer festival. Accommodation with host families during the festival can be arranged where required, although meals are not provided.

Applications are open to both individual musicians and pre-formed ensembles. There is no fee to participate in the programme once accepted.

We welcome applications from early-career chamber musicians at any stage of their development. There is no strict age limit, as musicians develop at different stages in their careers. While a connection to Hampshire or the Test Valley area is preferred, it is not essential.
