RCMF WinterFest opens with Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, performed by the Goethe String Quartet alongside local young musicians. Alberga’s Second Quartet follows; a strikingly original work of contrasting textures and expressive intensity. The concert closes with Ravel’s String Quartet, whose luminous harmonies and refined interplay is widely regarded as one of the pinnacles of the chamber music repertoire.
